There has been a lot of focus by the Labour Government and the mainstream media on the farmers. The have been for a while now Striking and showing what they can do when pushed to the wall. The thing is we all have to eat food and we have been lucky to have been able to eat good healthy food that is affordable. This has only been possible because of the United Kingdoms ability to produce its own food.
Also we love the countryside. Did you know that most of rural England is not its original wild state its actually the way it is because of farmers. The fields were put in place by farmers. The hedge rows were planted and maintained and still are maintained by farmers. The fact that we can live in towns and villages and cities is because of farmers. We even feed our own military from food that is produced by farmers all of this largely done by farmers in the UK. We will now go into myth busting.
Farmers are rich landowners will loads of wealth and cash. Actually that was once the case but not today. Most farmers today are not landowning aristocrats they are either tenant farmers or they own the farm and the land through a freehold and lease system. Myth two they have it easy.
Actually Farmers have it hard they get up at the crack of dawn and they tend to their animals and plant and plough their fields. You might even be thinking they are cruel to their animals. No not quite whilst its true some farmers in this world we live in do that most UK farmers actually are involved in the animals lives from credal to death. They actually look after them because the animals cost money to acquire and maintain.
They even have an emotional connection to them. Being a farmer today involves many things. If you want to have good food buy from your local farm shop or a butcher and even find out if the butcher has a good relationship with the farmer. If we pull together and focus our money on the farmer, and butcher or farmer and backer then the supermarket and the likes of Bill Gates will have less of our money.
